Parental Letter – Tuesday 18th June 2020

Dear Parents / Carers,

Thank you to everyone who commented and ‘liked’ our staff video on the school Facebook page. You may not recognise one or two of the faces as some are staff, who parents may not see very often, working ‘behind the scenes’ but every person in the video has their part to play in helping the children of Stansfield Hall learn and develop and grow as fantastic young people.

School Uniform Orders
Some parents have been asking about school uniform orders. As part of our COVID-Secure arrangements, uniform orders can be placed by sending an e-mail to jwhittaker@stansfieldhall.rochdale.sch.uk or phoning Mrs Whittaker in the school office, by calling school and selecting option 1, any morning. Sizes and prices have been posted on our school Facebook page.

Key Worker children, vulnerable children and Year 6
We have many children who have settled in well back at school and are learning and socialising daily in their smaller groups. Thank you to everyone for sticking to the arrival and collection times and helping this to run smoothly for us. We have very limited availability for space in some of the groups (bubbles) and none in others. We are trying to plan the next stage of the wider opening of school in line with the DFE guidance but this will only
be possible if there are no more ‘Key Worker’ children, year 6 or vulnerable children wanting places over the next few weeks. If you feel you are eligible, please phone school to speak to Miss Williams or myself as soon as possible but by Tuesday, 23rd June at the latest. The guidance does say that schools must prioritise certain children and we would hate to have to turn any eligible child away due to parents not informing us of their intentions.

Home learning and September
We will continue to upload the home learning to the website every week and make telephone calls to speak to the children. If you need to contact your child’s class teacher please email on the class email addresses. Stansfield Hall will be closed over the summer holidays for further building works identified by the Local Authority following on from last year’s rewire and new fire alarm. We are currently in the planning stage for September and awaiting the government guidance before we are able to finalise the plans, which we will obviously share at the earliest opportunity. Please rest assured that we have and will continue to do everything we can to ensure your children are safe, happy and learning at Stansfield Hall.

Stay Safe,
Mr R Walthall
Headteacher
