Parental Letter Clarifications

Dear Parents / Carers,

I am sorry if the email yesterday has caused any confusion. I would like to offer the following information to clarify our position.

Rochdale Council has said schools will not open for more pupils until the 15th June at the earliest.

If we are expecting any more pupils in on the 15th we will inform you by email on Thursday, 11th June.

The Government guidance does say Key Worker children and vulnerable children should be in school every day. Obviously, this is a parents choice and no parent will be fined at the current time for not sending their child to school. However, as a school we do expect any of our key worker children who have attended in recent weeks to attend every day and not just odd days to match parent’s shifts. This will ensure that we can provide appropriate provision and activities for the children and help to settle them into a routine.

If you are a Key Worker and you need your child to start accessing school from the 8th June and they have not done so yet, please phone school or email office@stansfieldhall.rochdale.sch.ukto inform us of your employment role and the name of your child and we will be able to arrange staff and space for your child to be in school. Please do not just assume there will be space for your child and send them in. The social distancing measures and different groups in school (known as bubbles) have been planned carefully to help minimise the risk to all staff and pupils.

From Monday, 8th June

  • Key Worker children and vulnerablechildren should be in school every day. The government advice now states that if they are entitled to attend, they should attend;this is a change from the previous advice.
  • Set start and finish times. We ask that Key Worker and Vulnerable Children arrive at 8.30amand are collected at 3.30pm from the playground. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE.
  • Hot Meals – the week of the 8th June may be the last week hot meals are served but these must be paid for unless your child is on Free School Meals or Universal Infant Free School Meals. Please arrange a bank transfer or send the money in with your child in a sealed envelope.
  • The School Office –We will not be allowing parents into the main entrance unless they have booked a meeting. We will be encouraging all parents to contact school via phone or email for the vast majority of contact.

Stay Safe

Mr R Walthall
