School Newsletter – Friday 13th October 2017

Dear Parents,

A massive thank you to everyone who helped raise nearly £200 for “Little ‘Pink’ Borough”.

On Friday, 20th October we will be holding our Harvest Assembly at 2pm, parents are invited to attend, refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to view the children’s homework projects from this half term.  We are asking for donations of tins and packets to send to the Petrus charity.

REMINDER –  Children in Years 3,4,5 and 6 going on the Joseph Theatre Trip on the 19th October will return to school at approximately 6.15pm.  Please make sure you do not block the road when parking to wait for your child as we need to ensure clear access and space for two coaches to unload.

There will be no after school club on Friday, 20th October so school finishes for the half term break at 3.20pm.  School reopens on Monday, 30th October.

For all children bringing in the optional homework books next week we will be looking at the number of units completed and awarding a Team Star for each one.

As many of you know Mrs Wall will be retiring on Friday 20th October after over 27 years at Stansfield Hall.  We wish her the very best for a long, happy and healthy retirement and thank her for all her hard work.

Thank you

Mr. R. Walthall

School Newsletter – Friday 6th October 2017

Dear Parents,

Thank you to everyone who helped Launch “Little ‘Pink’ Borough” by wearing pink on Monday and donating to the cancer research charity.

On Tuesday our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a visit to Crucial Crew in Rochdale learning about safety and keeping themselves safe.

The Full Governing Board met last night and appointed Ms Gott as our new Chair of Governors and thanked Mrs Doney for her service as Chair.

Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, going on the Joseph Theatre trip on the 19th October will return to school approximately 6.15pm.  Please make sure you do not block the road when parking to wait for your child as we need to ensure clear access and space for two coaches to unload.

Homework is due in on Wednesday 11th October.

Our project this half-term is all about being healthy. We would like pupils to present their project based around this idea.

Work could include:

Healthy activities – could children photograph activities they enjoy or even try a new one?

Healthy meals – could children prepare and cook a healthy meal? Packed lunch? Picnic?

Healthy changes – as a family could you make some healthy changes together?

Thank you

Mr. R. Walthall
