School Newsletter – Friday 23rd June 2017

Dear Parents

The children have had a fantastic week “flying” around Europe sampling different foods and cultures during International Week.

On Monday 26th June Year 6 will be going to the Burrs Activity Centre for the day.

On Thursday 29th June Year 5 will be going to Wardle Academy, they will be provided with a school lunch on this day.  Wardle have asked that children wear pumps/trainers as they may be needed for some activities.

Year 4 and 5 continue their weekly swimming sessions every Tuesday.

Letters for the whole school trip to Cannon Hall farm were sent home last week, please make sure they are returned ASAP.

Next Friday I will be sending a letter out detailing the class structure for next year including which year groups will be split, which class your child will be in and who the class teacher will be.  For the children who are in a year group being split we will talk to the children the Monday after (3rd July) and introduce them to their new class as part of our work on transition.

School Newsletter – Friday 16th June 2017

Dear Parents

It was lovely to see so many parents and grandparents in school this week joining us for their continental breakfast.  Thank you to everyone involved in making these sessions a huge success.

Monday’s trip to the People’s History Museum gave the pupils a real insight into LGBT rights and how things have changed.  The pupils enjoyed their protest art workshop and their mini demonstration march in the museum.

Year 4 and 5 continue their weekly swimming sessions every Tuesday.

As part of our “Let’s go to Europe” project we will be “visiting” the different countries next week after our virtual flight on “Air Stansfield”.  Please see the letter from Mrs Beeley for more details.

The whole school trip this year is to Cannon Hall farm, letters have been sent out tonight.

Letters have been sent out regarding musical instrument lessons, if you are interested in your child having these lessons and are willing to pay the additional costs please return the letter by Friday 23rd June.

We continue to use our facebook page to keep parents informed of school activities and share photographs of school life.  This week we have photographs of the breakfast sessions and the Museum trip, keep an eye out next week for International Week photographs.

Thank you
