School Newsletter – Friday 19th May 2017

Dear Parents

Last weekend’s trip to Robinwood was a huge success and the children were complemented on being exceptionally well mannered.  Well done to both groups, they were a credit to Stansfield Hall.

Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed their short trip to Neeli Mosque on Monday.

The Full Governing Board met last night for the summer term meeting, but before that they met with the school council, prefects and all staff for afternoon tea.  At this meeting we said goodbye to two of our governors who retire this month.  Mrs Wild who has supported the school representing the Methodist Church and been our link governor for Willow class for the last 4 years.  Mrs Richardson has been on the governing body for over 10 years and has been our chair of the resources committee, working hard to ensure the budget balanced every year.  We thank them both for their hard work at Stansfield Hall and hope they will join us again in the future at special events.

Year 4 and 5 continue their weekly swimming sessions every Tuesday for the rest of the Summer Term.

Reminder that on Monday 22nd May we are inviting all parents and friends of the school to call in anytime between 9.00am and 4.15pm to view our Art Gallery where the children’s work will be on display.  The children have worked hard both in school and at home on a variety of art projects and this is an opportunity for parents to come into school and see all the hard work for themselves.

Reminder – school finishes at 3.20pm on May 26th for one week for the half term holiday.  There will be an After School Club as usual until 4.30pm.

Thank you

On Monday, 8th May all children in Elm and Birch will be completing tests, the Year 6 children will be doing their SATS tests.  The children have been very well prepared for these tests and we know they will do their best.  All the staff are proud of how well they have developed this year, especially Miss Williams their class teacher.  Good Luck Year 6, you will be great!  (Remember to have a good rest this weekend).

On Friday, 12th May a group of children from Elm and Birch Class will be going to Robinwood for the weekend with myself, Miss Barratt and Miss Baker.  We will leave school at 10.30am and return to school for 3pm on Sunday, 14th May.

Please can we remind all parents that we do ask children on packed lunches to take their rubbish home with them, allowing parents to see what children have eaten and have left, so that parents may separate any recycling at home.
