School Newsletter – Friday 23rd September 2016

Dear Parents,

The Year 2 Pupils had a fantastic morning out on Tuesday at Pizza Express, photos are on the school Facebook page if you have not already seen them.

On Wednesday, 5th October at 3.30pm there will be a short meeting of the PFA (Parents and Friends Association) to discuss arrangements for the Halloween Disco and other events across the year. It would be lovely to see some new parents so if you feel you would like to be involved in supporting the school please come along on Wednesday (the children can stay at after school club).

We have sent home 2 leaflets for our School Open Day on Monday, 10th October.

This is for all parents, friends, family and the local community as well as any prospective future parents so please share the leaflets as you see fit. If you would like any further copies for local shops etc that you may work in please ask at the school office.

The children should be well underway with their science projects by now ready to share in school on Monday, 17th October. We are inviting parents into school to share in our Science Fair on Tuesday, 18th October between 9 am and 11 am.

Advance notice of our School Harvest Assembly for parents on Wednesday, 19th October at 2pm.

Thank you

Mr. R. Walthall

School Newsletter – Friday 16th September 2016

Dear Parents,

Everyone seems to have settled in well to the new term and the children are working hard on this half terms “Let’s Experiment” project.

Thank you to all the parents who have returned the contact forms, home school agreements and all the other forms we sent home last week, if you have not yet done so please can you return as soon as possible.

Children in Years 1,2 and 3 have had letters about Flu Immunisation please can parents ensure they return either the YES or the NO form on Monday 19th September at the very latest.

As part of our continued work on celebrating diversity we are joining the Stonewall rainbow laces campaign to help fight homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in sport. Hundreds of schools have signed up to join this week’s campaign and in school we are asking staff and children to wear their trainers with the Rainbow Laces on Friday 23 rd September (when all classes have PE with a specialist sport coach from One Goal) to show our support for the “Let’s make sport everyone’s game”. We are also asking parents who have twitter to post photos of their children’s shoes with the #rainbowlaces @StansHallSch and @Stonewalluk.

We have sent home a free pair of rainbow shoelaces this term but will be asking for them to be worn again later in the school year on the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia where we will have to charge £3 a pair for replacement laces so please keep them safe.

Thank you
